Men's Basketball: Pilots downed by OLLU

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - The no. 21 LSU Shreveport Pilots saw their seven game win streak come to an end on Monday night in Red River Athletic Conference play with a 109-95 loss to the Our Lady of the Lake Saints.
LSUS (18-5, 13-4 RRAC) fall to three games behind SAGU for the top spot in the RRAC regular season standings while OLLU leaps into the 4th spot just a half game behind the Pilots.
The Pilots led by Mark Politte with 20 points on a night where LSUS shot 44-percent but was outscored in the second half 62-49. Rydell Harris tossed in 19 points while Brandon Davis had 17 points and Rodney Milum had 15 before fouling out of the game. Tevin Hall had 10.
LSUS turned the ball over 21 times leading to 22 points for OLLU. The Pilots made a comeback late in the first half cutting OLLU's lead down to just one at the half.
OLLU's Robert Martinez was on fire with 11 of 16 shooting, four of eight from downtown, and six of eight from the free-throw line to finish with the game high of 32 points. Mike Brown had 22 points off the bench for the Saints.
The next game for LSUS will be on Saturday at The Dock at 7:30 p.m. against Southwest.
