Men's Basketball: Milum RRAC Player of the Week

WACO, Tex. - Rodney Milum of LSU Shreveport and Marcus O'Key of Jarvis Christian College (Texas) earned recognition as Red River Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week for Nov. 26-Dec. 2, the fifth weekly award of the season. This was the third consecutive week that Milum was named RRAC POW.
Milum, a senior guard from Houston, averaged 29.3 points per game in a 2-1 week for the Pilots. He poured in 35 points, including eight three-pointers, to propel LSUS to a 97-83 victory over East Texas Baptist University and chipped in 14 points in a loss to Texas College. He capped the week with 39 points and seven three-pointers en route to a 92-79 win over Langston University (Okla.). Milum made 25-of-50 field goal attempts and 15-of-32 three-point shots for the week. The Pilots are 2-1 in conference play and 5-2 on the season.
O'Key, a senior forward from Lake Charles, La., posted two double-double efforts in a 1-1 week for the Bulldogs. In an 84-83 victory over Wiley College (Texas), he scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds then followed that performance with 27 points and 11 boards as JCC lost to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas), 80-74. O'Key connected on 12-of-25 shots from the field and 12-of-16 from the free throw line in the two games. The Bulldogs are 1-2 in the RRAC and 2-5 overall.
Oscar Griffin of Texas Wesleyan University, Tayler Jacobs of Wiley College (Texas), Kerry Jones of Texas College, Robert Martinez of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas), and Josh Quintero of the University of the Southwest (N.M.) were also nominated for this week's award.
