Men's Basketball: Davis and Politte power Pilots past Wiley in OT

WAXAHACHIE, Tex. - The LSU Shreveport Pilots outscored the Wiley Wildcats 21-12 in overtime to take down the Wiley Wildcats 107-98 in overtime in the quarter finals of the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament on the campus of Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
LSUS (24-5) rallied back from four points down in the later part of the second half as Brandon Davis' tip in with five seconds to play in regulation. The ensuing possession let to Wiley missing a nine-footer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, a period that was dominated by the Pilots to help Coach Kyle Blankenship get his first post season win on the day her turned 30.
Davis netted the game-high of 36 points while grabbing 19 rebounds while Mark Politte pitched in 35 points on a day where the Pilots shot 54-percent from the field. Rondey Milum tossed in 17 points going three of 10 from downtown. Overall the Pilots were 10 of 22 from beyond the arc with Politte leading the way four of seven while Davis was two for two from downtown.
Davis helped lead the Pilots to the rebounding battle 38-30.
The Pilots will play tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. against the winner of the Jarvis/Huston-Tillotson game.
