Maddox receives GCAC player of the week honors for third time

Shreveport, LA---The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference today announced the baseball player of the week for the week of March 7 - March 13, 2005.
Dusty Maddox of LSUS was chosen player of the week for the second consecutive week. Maddox hit .467 with 3 home runs, 2 triples, 7 RBI, 6 runs scored and 2 stolen bases in 5 games against Northwood University and William Carey College.
Maddox is currently leading the GCAC nearly all offensive categories. He is currently batting .435 on the year with 33 runs scored, 11 doubles, 8 homeruns, and 42 RBI which are currently all GCAC high totals. Maddox is second in the conference stolen bases with 16, and second in triples with 3.
“Dusty’s performance to date this year is a perfect reflection of his work ethic. He is the first person to practice and the last one leave,” commented Pilots assistant coach Al Cantwell.
The LSUS Pilots are now 20-5 on the season and are currently tied for first place in the GCAC at 9-3 with the University of Mobile. The Pilots will be in action Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm when they will take on Loyola University in game one of a three game GCAC series.
