LSUS WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS SHC

Mobile, AL-The LSUS women’s soccer team (7-2-1, 1-0-0) defeated the Lady Badgers (4-5-1, 0-1-1) of Spring Hill College on Tuesday afternoon at Library Field by a final score of 1-0.
The Lady Pilots scored at the 35th minute as Martina Dosen got her first goal of the season to give LSUS a 1-0 lead in the opening conference game in 2009.
Spring Hill out shot LSUS in the first half 14-2, as keeper Torie Calhoun made 4 saves to keep the Lady Badgers off the board and give LSUS a 1-0 lead at the break.
The Lady Pilots were able to slow down the attack of Spring Hill in the second half as LSUS outshot the Lady Badgers 6-4.
Lady Pilot’s freshman keeper, Calhoun earned her fourth shutout of the season, stopping all six shots on goal.
The next game for LSUS will be on Saturday, October 10th, as the Lady Pilots continue GCAC play with a bout against the Lady Rams of the University of Mobile. The game will take place on the campus of LSUS, at the Swamp, with the kickoff set for 1 p.m.
The Lady Rams are 4-5-1 on the season and are coming off a victory over Reinhardt 5-1. This will be the first conference game of the year for UM.
