LSUS WOMEN'S SOCCER BEGIN SEASON AT HOME

Shreveport, LA—The LSUS Lady Pilots (0-0) soccer team will open their season today at The Swamp, on the campus of LSUS, against the Apaches from Tyler Junior College (0-0). The kick off is set for 5 PM.
“It’s always good after practicing against your selves, to finally go out and compete against another team. We get to see what we do well and what we need to work on to get better. We have a good group of ladies and I am looking forward to getting this season underway,” Jed Jones.
The Lady Pilots finished the 2008 season with an overall record of 8-8-1, with a conference record of 2-5-1. The Swamp was even par to the Lady Pilots last season as they had a combined record of 3-3-1 at home.
The Apaches had a good year in 2008, posting a 12-3-1 record. Tyler JC played well on the road last season with 7-2 record.
LSUS returns thirteen players from last year’s roster, including;
Senior -Forward -Alicia Marshall-Texarkana, Texas
Junior-Defense-Shelley Davenport-San Antonio, Texas
Sophomore-Mid Fielder-Kimberly Phelps-Lake Charles, Louisiana
Junior-Mid Fielder-Caitlin Smith-San Antonio, Texas
The Lady Pilots welcome some newcomers to the 2009 team, including;
Junior-Defense-Martina Dosen-Oakville, Ontario
Freshman-Mid Fielder-Tarah Arrington-Cibolo, Texas
The Lady Pilots will travel to Jacksonville, Texas on Sunday to meet Lon Morris College at 1 PM.
