LSUS Takes Two From Wiley College

Shreveport, La. – The LSUS Pilots picked up a pair of non-conference victories at home on Tuesday night, defeating Wiley College 9-2 and 8-1.Gino Spratley (4-1) picked up the win in game one, allowing just two runs in seven innings of work for the Pilots. The complete game was Spratley’s first of his career.
Quenton Shamsabady led the Pilot attack with three hits and three RBIs in the contest. Shamsabady hit a two-run double in the bottom of the second to give the Pilots an early 3-0 lead.
Jeff Ledet and Bryan Stebbings also finished with multiple hits for the home team in game one, each finishing with a pair of hits and a RBI in the win.
In the nightcap, Blake Pinkston (4-1) earned the victory on the mound for the Pilots, giving up just one run and three hits in four innings of action.
Craig Barnes hit his team-leading tenth homerun of the season in the first, as the Pilots scored five runs in the first and would never look back.
Barnes finished the game 2-for-3 with four RBIs, while Andrew Brouillette was the only other Pilot with two hits.
LSUS (32-12, 21-9) have won six consecutive ballgames, and they will look to improve on that mark Sunday afternoon versus Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. The Pilots and Rams will play a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 PM.
