LSUS Takes Two from Tougaloo

Shreveport, La. - The No. 15 LSUS Pilots picked up two easy wins on Friday night, defeating the visiting Tougaloo College Bulldogs 17-7 and 17-2 in a doubleheader at Pilot Field.

Game 1 - LSUS 17, Tougaloo 7 (5)

Andrew Brouillette hit for the cycle and Brent Lavallee was 3-for-3 with two homeruns and 4 RBIs to lead LSUS past Tougaloo in game one of Friday's double header.

Brouillette homered and tripled in the bottom of the fourth to complete the cycle, and finished the game with 5 RBIs as the Pilots cruised to an easy victory.

Quinton Shamsabady also chipped in offensively with a home run in the contest and 3 RBIs.

Andrew Blubaugh doubled and tripled to finish 3-for-3, as the Pilots pounded out 14 hits.

Chad Cradeur picked up his first win of the season on the mound for the Pilots.

Game 2 - LSUS 17, Tougaloo 2

Jeffrey Garidel and Chase Wentz each homered twice in the second game of Friday's doubleheader, helping the Pilots to a 17-2 win over the Bulldogs.

Garidel was 4-for-5 with four RBIs, while Wentz drove in three runs.

Andrew Brouillette kept his bat hot in game two, picking up two hits including a double and a triple, while also driving in a run.

Gino Spratley earned the win on the mound for the Pilots, allowing just one hit and striking out six batters in his four innings of work.

LSUS moves to 14-2, 10-1 on the season with tonight's wins, and they will take on the Bulldogs in the series finale on Saturday at 1:00 P.M.
