June 17, 2008
Shreveport, La. – LSUS continues to stockpile their 2008-09 roster with NCAA Division 1 transfers as former Evangel and Louisiana Tech forward Brandon Mims signed a letter-of-intent with the Pilots on Tuesday.
“We are very happy that Brandon has made the decision to come back home to Shreveport and join our program here at LSUS next season,” said LSUS head coach Chad McDowell. “Brandon will provide us with much needed size and athleticism, and we are excited about his decision to transfer.”
Mims appeared in 23 games with six starts as a true freshman last season at Louisiana Tech. He averaged 1.5 points and 2 rebounds, while leading the team in blocked shots.
Mims, a 2007 graduate of Evangel Christian Academy, is 6-8 and will have three years of eligibility remaining for the Pilots.
Mims is the fourth player to sign with the Pilots this offseason, joining Minden High’s Derrick Parker, Centenary’s Tyrone Hamilton and Northwestern State’s Aubin Young.
Also joining the Pilots roster next season will be John Anthony Anglin from Northwestern St. Anglin played his high school ball at Loyola College Prep, and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at LSUS.
