LSUS Pilots host regional baseball tourney; seeded No. 2 (5/9/2005)

The LSUS Pilots will host the NAIA Region XIII Baseball Tournament that begins Tuesday (May 10) and are the No. 2 seed in the eight-team tournament. Three of the eight tournament teams, including LSUS, are members of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, and the other five teams are members of the Southern States Athletic Conference. Games on the first two days of the possible five-day tournament will be played at Pilots Field on the LSUS campus and the Captain Shreve High School baseball field. Opening game time on both fields is 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, with the evening sessions both days scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday games will all be played on the LSUS campus and are scheduled to begin at 12:00 Noon, 3:30 and 7 p.m. The LSUS Pilots, who won the GCAC regular season championship, open play at Pilots Field at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against the Auburn University-Montgomery Senators, the tournament’s No. 7 seed. The other three first-round games on Tuesday are: University of Mobile Rams (#4-GCAC) vs. Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes (#5-SSAC), 2:30 p.m. at Captain Shreve; North Georgia Saints (#1-SSAC) vs. Berry College Vikings (#8-SSAC), 2:30 p.m. at LSUS, and Lee University Flames (#3-SSAC) vs. William Carey College Crusaders (#6-GCAC), 6:30 p.m. at Captain Shreve. Day Passes are $7 and Tournament Passes are $20 and will be available at all games.
