LSUS Men's Program Receives RRAC Sportsmanship Award

WACO, Tex. - Special recognition was given to LSU Shreveport for its men's programs and Southwestern Assemblies of God University for its women's teams. Awards were determined in voting by all RRAC athletic directors. Northwood University was selected as the overall winner of the 2010-11 Red River Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Award as the program with the coaches, players and administration that exhibited the best demeanor and conduct during the most recent academic year.

The RRAC Sportsmanship Award is given annually to the RRAC member institution that displayed the highest level of sportsmanship including teamwork, fair play, respect for the game and conduct in competition. The school's sportsmanship must be apparent across multiple sports, on and off the field and in interaction with fellow member schools.

Andrew Brouillette received the Champions of Character Award at the Avista-NAIA World Series for baseball and the Pilots men's basketball Coach Chad McDowell was named as the NAIA Champions of Character Coach of Character Award for the 2010-2011 season.
                         
Representatives from Northwood, LSUS and SAGU were presented with the awards at the conference meetings in September in Dallas.
