LSUS hires Blankenship as new Sports Information Director

July 19, 2007

Shreveport, LA - Louisiana State University in Shreveport has hired Kyle Blankenship as its new Sports Information Director, according to athletics director Doug Robinson.

"I have known Kyle for several years now, and he is an extremely hard working and intelligent young man," Robinson said. "He will do a great job as our SID, and I am extremely happy to have him on our staff."

Blankenship enters his new position after serving one season at LSUS as a Men’s Basketball Assistant under Head Coach Chad McDowell.  Blankenship will remain part of McDowell’s staff, in addition to becoming the Sports Information Director.

"I'm excited for this new opportunity Coach Robinson has given me," Blankenship said. "Al Cantwell did such a great job in this position, and I look forward to building on what he started.  I will do my best to continue to promote LSUS athletics, its coaches, and all of the student-athletes in the most effective way possible."

Blankenship received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from The University of Tulsa in 2006.

LSUS, a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), competes in the sports Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, and Women’s Soccer.
