LSUS Completes Sweep of LSUA

Shreveport, La. - The LSUS Pilots baseball team won their sixth and seventh consecutive games this season, as they defeated the LSUA Generals 10-6 and 17-7 in Saturday's doubleheader at Pilot Field.

Cody Lott improved to 3-0 on the mound with the win in game one for the Pilots.

Craig Barnes and Josh Todd each continued their hot hitting of late, as both had multiple hits in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.

Barnes and Todd each had a double and homered in the Pilots 10-6 win over the Generals.  Barnes finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Todd went 3-for-3 with three RBIs.  Quenton Shamsabady also added two hits for the Pilots in game one.

In game two, freshman Gino Spratley (2-0) was credited with the win, pitching five innings and allowing only two runs on three hits.

Barnes, Jeff Ledet and Matt Mosely all homered for the Pilots in game two, as LSUS run-ruled the Generals in seven innings.

David Bradley doubled and knocked in three runs in his first start of the season at second base, while Bryan Stebbings was 2-for-3 with a RBI double in the contest.

Shamsabady and Andrew Brouillette each had two hits apiece in game two.  Barnes also added a double in the second game, finishing 2-for-2 with four RBIs.

The Pilots will be off until next weekend when they travel to face William Carey University in a three-game GCAC series on Friday and Saturday.
