LSUS Baseball Defeats No. 1 ranked NCAA D-2 Southern Arkansas

Magnolia, Ark. - The NAIA No. 10 LSUS Pilots picked up their 27th win of the season, knocking off the No. 1 NCAA-D2 Southern Arkansas Muleriders 7-6 in 12 innings on Tuesday night.

David Bradley smashed a game-winning double with two outs in the top of the 12th, knocking in Andrew Blubaugh all the way from first base to give the Pilots a huge win.

Richard Pharr was outstanding in relief for the visitors, pitching four scoreless innings and earning his third win of the season.  Pharr did not allow a single hit in his four innings pitched to help lift the Pilots to victory.

The reigning GCAC Player of the Week, Andrew Brouillette, carried the load offensively one again for the Pilots, finishing the night 3-for-6 with a homerun, two doubles and two RBIs.

Stephen Hobbins also added a two-run homerun for the victors.  Hobbins two-run shot was the first of his collegiate career.

LSUS (27-3) is off to the best start in school history, and they will look to continue their winning ways on Wednesday night when they travel to Alexandria to take on Louisiana College.
