LSUS Athletes earn GCAC player of the week honors

Chris Frye of Louisiana State University – Shreveport has been chosen the GCAC Baseball Player of the Week. Frye, a sophomore center fielder from Mindon, La., hit .429 for the week with 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 8 runs batted in. His slugging percentage was .929.
Wesley Cromer of Louisiana State University – Shreveport has been chosen the GCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Cromer, a freshman from Bossier City, La., was 1-0 on the week, gaining the victory in the Pilots’ 6-4 win over Belhaven College. He also had a no decision against Louisiana College in a 5-2 loss. Cromer had a 4.00 era with 10 strikeouts in 9 innings pitched.
