Lady Rams defeat Lady Pilots 84-75 at The Dock

Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Lady Pilots put up a tough fight against the No. 16 University of Mobile Lady Rams, but in the end lost by a final score of 84-75.
The two teams battled to a 40-34 halftime score in favor of the Lady Rams who shot just 32% (11-34) from the floor. UM however did find success on the free-throw line and connected on 15-17 attempts in the half. Kinga Rybaczyk led the Lady Rams offense with 10 points and six rebounds.
The Lady Pilots stayed within reach despite shooting just 37% (11-of-29) from the field. Moche Roque finished the half with 10 points and added 3 assists, while Jessica added five points and four rebounds.
Kelly finished just two assists shy of a triple-double as she poured in 15 points in the second half while pulling down seven rebounds and adding six assists. The Lady Pilots trailed by as many as 20 points in the half and managed to cut the Lady Ram lead to as little as eight points in the final two minutes. The Lady Rams however continued to finish from the free-throw line as they finished 17-of-22 attempts in the second half, and were 32-of-39 for the game.
Rybaczyk finished with 19 points and eight rebounds while Crystal Coston finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists helping the Lady Rams to improve to 17-3 on the season, and remain on top of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Standings at 7-1.
Kelly finished with a game high 20 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists for the Lady Pilots. Freshman center Janai Sells added a career high 17 points and seven rebounds. Roque finished with 15 points while Lady Pilot senior Marcia Spyhalski added nine points and seven assists before fouling out in the second half.
With the loss the Lady Pilots fall to 10-9 on the year and 2-6 in the GCAC. They will return to action Monday night when they travel to Jackson, MS to take on the Belhaven College Lady Blazers. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
