November 19, 2003
The Lady Pilots took the floor in front of a full house at the LSUS gymnasium Tuesday night. Looking for their first win of the year behind head coach Ronnie Howell, the Pilots took on Texas College of Tyler, Texas. And they got it.
In the first half Saige Cooper got the Lady Pilots rolling hitting four three-pointers and a total of 14-points. Teammate Renalda Stafford also pitched in with 12, and the first-half saw the Lady Pilots ahead of the Texas College Steers by a score of 43-32.
"Pilot Pandemonium" continued in the second-half as the Pilots continued their hot shooting, pouring in 39 more points, and an 82-64 victory over the Steers. Renada Stafford never slowed down her scoring pace as she finished with a game high 24-point performance. Saige Cooper ended with 17, followed by Kendra Monette with 16. Rebecca Phipps ended with a team high 13-points for Texas College.
The Lady Pilots improve their record to 1-3 on the season and are back on the road Friday to take on Hendrix, College of Conway, Arkansas. LSUS will play their next home game December 8, when they look to revenge a six-point loss versus Jarvis Christian College in their first game of the season. Tip-off will be 5:30.
