Lady Pilots topple SAGU

SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots soccer team won their second game in a row as they defeated the SAGU Lady Lions 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at The Swamp in Red River Athletic Conference play.LSUS (5-2, 2-0 RRAC) got on the board first with a goal from Irene Henriksson during the ninth minute of the game to take a 1-0 lead until Sarah Guillory connected with Brooke Martin during the 24th minute to put the Lady Pilots up 2-0 at the half.
SAGU (2-7, 0-2RRAC) had a rough start to the second half as the Lady Pilots got a goal as Kim Phelps got a deflection off a defender for the third Lady Pilots goal just a minute into the second half.
The final goal of the game was the second goal of the game for Irene Henriksson, her fourth of the season, at the 83rd minute to give LSUS a four goal advantage.
LSUS pounded 22 shots to SAGU's 3; 12 LSUS' shots found its way on net while only one for SAGU was between the posts. The Lady Pilots missed a few other scoring chances as they nailed two free-kicks off the post.
The next game for the Lady Pilots will be Tuesday, September 27th, at The Swamp at 11 a.m. against Lyon College. The Lady Pilots' next RRAC match will be at The Swamp on Thursday, October 6th, against University of the Southwest at 1 p.m.
