Lady Pilots to square off versus cross-town rival Centenary College
November 14, 2005
Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Lady Pilots (2-0) do not have to travel far for their first road game of the year as they are taking on cross-town rival Centenary College Ladies at the Gold Dome. The Lady Pilots have cruised to a 2-0 record thus far this season averaging 77 points per game and outscoring their opponents by an average of 30 points per game. Jessica Kelley is the leading scorer for the LSUS with 14.5 points per contest.
The Ladies are coming off a disappointing 2004-05 campaign, however they return eight letterwinners, including four starters. With five active Centenary players currently in the all-time top-25 in career scoring, the Ladies should become a more dangerous offensive threat now they are more comfortable with the system of second-year head coach Elizabeth Wamsley. Senior Van’esha Brabson, currently fifth all-time in scoring, needs just eight points to move into a tie for fourth place and can move into third with a solid season on the hardwood.
Monday’s action can be heard on-air on KOKA 980 AM in Shreveport, and online at www.sportsjuice.com (http://www.sportsjuice.com/). Play-by-play announcer Doug Greenwald is back for his sixth season as the voice for Ladies basketball. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
