Lady Pilots tie OLLU

October 20, 2012

SHREVEPORT, La. - The lack of scoring opportunities is not to blame for the LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots and Our Lady of the Lake Saints tying 0-0 on Saturday afternoon at The Swamp on Senior Day. Both teams had plenty of chances in the game but could not break the scoreless tie.

LSUS (8-6-1, 5-3-1 RRAC) outshot the Saints 4-1 in the two overtime periods with all four chances being very close to ending the game. Jaynie Stewart and Nea Sunila led the home team with four shots each in the game and both had chances to end the game in overtime.

OLLU (8-6-1, 6-2-1 RRAC) had some chances in the game to put one in the back of the net but most of their chances came in regulation. The Saints took a total of 11 shots in the game placing four on frame. LSUS keeper Shay Wells made all four saves for the Lady Pilots leading to the tie.

The Lady Pilots outshot the Saints 15-11 and placed seven on goal in which all were saved by the OLLU keeper Alyssa Mora. LSUS had a couple of chances to score on the five total corner kicks they took compared to allowing the visitors to just take one corner kick in the first half.

The next game for the Lady Pilots will be next Saturday, October 27th, at 3 p.m. at Northwood University.
