Lady Pilots Tie Bacone

MUSKOGEE, Okla. - The LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots soccer team tied the Lady Warriors of Bacone College 2-2 on Sunday afternoon at Bacone Soccer Field.LSUS (6-4-2, 3-1-2 RRAC) took the lead during the 37th minute when Brooke Martin scored her 15th goal of the season after receiving a pass from Kim Phelps who received her third assists of the season. The Lady Pilots maintained their one goal lead for the rest of the first half.
Bacone (6-8-1, 2-5-1 RRAC) tied the game with a goal from Brittany Woodward (48:16) and took the lead on Jessica Harper's goal at 76:33.
The Lady Pilots fought their way back and got another goal from Martin with less than five minutes to play to tie the game at two and send it to overtime. Megan Hussey played a long ball to Sandra Quintero who then passed on to Martin for the score; Hussey and Quintero were credited with the assists. The two extra periods saw no goals and the Lady Warriors outshot the Lady Pilots 3-2 in overtime.
Bacone outshot LSUS 17-14 and also placed the most on goal with six while the Lady Pilots only put four on frame.
The next game for the Lady Pilots will be Thursday, October 20th, at UT-Brownsville at 5 p.m.
