Lady Pilots Tennis drop season openers

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The LSU Shreveport women's tennis team lost their season openers on Saturday after their opener, originally scheduled for Friday, was postponed due to rain forcing them to play two matches in one day. The Lady Pilots lost the first match to Loyola University 8-1 while falling to the University of Mobile 6-2 in the second match of the day.Bernie Riles picked up the lone win for the Lady Pilots in the first match of the day against Loyola defeating their number two singles player. Riles was also a part of one of the two wins in the second match against Mobile as she teamed up with Lauren Stevenson to win the number one doubles match while Stevenson also picked up a win in singles match competition as well.
The next match for LSUS will be on Thursday, Feb. 16, at Centenary College in Shreveport. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the Centenary Tennis Complex.
