Lady Pilots Take on Crusaders Friday Night in Season Opener
August 22, 2005
Shreveport, LA---Head Coach Jed Jones waited anxiously throughout the summer for his players to arrive on campus to begin their academic and soccer careers at LSUS. The Lady Pilots have arrived and are ready for action. The team has yet to step on the playing surface versus an opponent, but believe that they are ready for the upcoming challenge. "In the past three weeks, these girls have not only shown me that they have the talent to play the game, but that they know the game," said Lady Pilots head coach Jed Jones.
The Lady Pilots will be stepping right into the fire Friday night in what will not only be their home and season opener, but also their Gulf Coast Athletic Conference debut versus the William Carey College Crusaders. The Crusaders finished the 2004 season with a 6-13 overall record which included a 2-6 GCAC record. “Every game we play is going to be a big game for us. There will probably be some teams that will take us for granted and we hope to use that to our advantage,” concluded Jones.
Fridays kick-off is scheduled for 5:00pm at the Swamp. The Lady Pilots will be in action again Sunday afternoon when they will travel to Natchitoches to take on Northwestern State University. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
