Lady Pilots Snap Two-Game Skid

Shreveport, La. - The LSUS Lady Pilots picked up their fifth Gulf Coast Athletic Conference win on the season, with a 72-63 victory over William Carey.
The Lady Pilots had dropped back-to-back conference game for the first time this season, before knocking off the Lady Saders on Saturday afternoon.
William Carey’s Kristen Blackledge opened up the game’s scoring at the 19:30 mark, but the Lady Pilots would go on a 13-2 run over the next 5 minutes to take an early 13-4 lead.
The Lady Saders would cut the Lady Pilots lead down to just three points with 9:06 remaining in the first half on a three-point field goal by Melanie Bush. However, LSUS went on a 12-0 run over the next six minutes, capped off by back-to-back field goals by Kacie Cryer.
In the second half, William Carey would close the gap to five points with 15 minutes left in the contest, before the Lady Pilots would blow the game wide open with a 22-5 run over the next eight minutes of action.
LSUS fought off a late rally by the Lady Saders and held on for a nine-point victory.
Cryer and Edie Leonards each finished with 14 points, with Leonards pulling down a game-high 9 rebounds.
Whitney Hollins and Quan Joseph also finished in double-figures for the Lady Pilots with 13 and 12 points respectively.
LSUS (9-8, 5-3) will host the Tougaloo Lady Bulldogs on Thursday night at The Dock. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
