July 15, 2008
Shreveport, La. - LSUS head women’s coach Ronnie Howell announced today the signing of Tynekqua Warren from Shongaloo High School to a letter-of-intent.
Warren, a 5’8 forward, finished her career at Shongaloo as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,710 points. She averaged 30 points and 19.5 rebounds per game during her senior year, while leading the Tigers to the Class B State playoffs. Warren posted four 40-point games last season on her way to earning district MVP honors.
In addition to being an outstanding athlete in high school, Warren also excelled in the classroom. She graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA, while finishing ranked third in her senior class. Warren was named to the Academic All-State Team for her accomplishments both on the court and in the classroom.
Warren is the second signee in the Lady Pilots 2008-09 recruiting class, joining junior college transfer Valerie Huizar who signed in early May.
