Lady Pilots Shut Out by Spring Hill

October 18, 2008

MOBILE, Ala. – The LSUS women’s soccer team failed to score a goal for the second consecutive game, as Spring Hill College tied a school-record with its 10th win of the season by taking a 2-0 decision over the Lady Pilots on Saturday afternoon.

The match was scoreless at the intermission, but SHC’s freshman forward Abby Galen broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute via a pass from senior midfielder Meaux Sargent.

Galen also added the Lady Badgers' second goal of the contest in the 83rd minute after junior forward Kasey Pruett threaded a pass to her between two defenders in front of the goal.

The Lady Pilots out shot the home team 10-9 on the afternoon, but Spring Hill managed to get five of their shots on goal, while the Lady Pilots only had one.

LSUS (7-5, 2-3) will have a week off before hosting conference foe William Carey at 1:00 p.m. next Saturday at The Swamp.
