Lady Pilots Ready for 2012 Season

SHREVEPORT, La. - Soccer season is just around the corner for the LSU Shreveport Soccer program as pre-season practice has begun. The women's soccer team began two-a-day practices less than a week ago as they prepare to open the 2012 season.

The LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots will begin their 2012 campaign with an Exhibition game on Friday, August 17, at The Swamp at 4 p.m. The 17-game regular season schedule will open on Monday, August 21, at 5 p.m. in Ruston, La., against Louisiana Tech.

The Lady Pilots will defend the Mayor's Cup as they battle the Centenary Ladies at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 27, at Lee Hedges Stadium. All proceeds from the cross-town rivalry match will benefit the March of Dimes.

The complete schedule consists of 9 road games, seven home games with one at Lee Hedges Stadium. The first regular season game at The Swamp will be against UT-Tyler at 4 p.m. on Monday, September 3.

The Lady Pilots will have their sights set on the Red River Athletic Conference title after finishing in fourth place in the regular season standing and saw an early exit in RRAC Tournament play a year ago as they open RRAC play on Thursday, September 20 at Huston-Tillotson in Austin at 3 p.m.
