December 12, 2011
SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots rallied their way past the Bacone Lady Warriors on Monday night at The Dock by a final score of 70-67 after trailing for most of the game. The Lady Pilots finished the contest with a 14-2 run in the last 2 minutes and 18 seconds as Christy Willis made a three-pointer with 51 seconds to play to put her team in front for good.

The lead changed hands nine different times in the game as Bacone led most of the way with their largest lead being eight points while the Lady Pilots led by no more than four points. Bacone was forced to try and foul their way back into the game in hopes that the Lady Pilots would miss the free-throws but they made them when they had to.

Bacone (5-3, 2-2 RRAC) led at the half by four 38-34 thanks to seven made three-pointers in the first half. They took a total of 30 shots from the field in the half in which 19 were from behind the arc.

LSUS (6-2, 4-0 RRAC) only attempted four from downtown, making one, but stayed in the game.

The Lady Pilots shot just 37% from the field for the game but made some clutch defensive plays and made free-throws when needed to mount a comeback. Willis drained a pair of three's in the contest but none bigger than the one she knocked down with under a minute to play. She finished the game with 10 points and was one of three Lady Pilots in double figures.

Sharde Henry led all scorers for the Lady Pilots with 19 points, nine of which came from the free-throw line. Jenna Diakos finished the contest with her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

BC finished with four different shooters in double digits. Danielle Reed led the team with 15 while Noelani Gi poured in 14 and Danielle Jackson finished with 11. Emily Lovell tossed in 10 and got the double-double with 10 boards.

Bacone edged the Lady Pilots underneath the bucket by three grabbing 44 to the Lady Pilots 41.

The next game for the Lady Pilots at The Dock will be on Wednesday, December 14, at 5:30 p.m. as they take on the no. 7 Langston Lionesses, the defending RRAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions from a year ago.
