Lady Pilots Pull Away in Second Half Versus ETBU

MARSHALL, Texas - For the second consecutive night, the LSUS Lady Pilots dominated the last 20 minutes of play to break open a close game and defeat the ETBU Lady Tigers 80-66 in Ornelas Gymnasium.

LSUS' Valerie Huizar led a host of Lady Pilots in double figures on Saturday with 19 points and 7 assists.  Whitney Hollins poured in 17 points in the win and Quan Joseph added 10.  Freshman Ricosha Kindells scored a career-high 16 points, as the Lady Pilots won for the fifth time in six tries and are off to the best start in school history.

The Lady Pilots led by just three points at the half and found themselves tied at 55-55 with 10:24 remaining in the contest.  However, LSUS went on an 17-1 run over the next seven minutes to take control of the contest and put the Lady Tigers away.

LSUS made 19-of-25 free throws on the night, while forcing 22 ETBU turnovers to their 11.

LSUS (5-1) will be off until Dec. 1 when they will take on Jarvis Christian in Hawkins, Texas.
