Lady Pilots place 6 on All-GCAC Teams

Mobile, AL---The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced the 2005 All-Conference teams Tuesday afternoon. The LSUS Lady Pilots landed three freshmen on the GCAC First Team All-Conference list, and added three others on the Second Team All-Conference list.
Michelle Williamson, a 5’6 freshman midfielder from Montgomery, TX finished the season with 28 points which included 10 goals and six assists. As the team captain and “quarterback” of the Lady Pilot offense, Williamson was named to the Second Team All-Conference list.
Calandre Singh, a 5’6 freshman forward from Harker Heights, TX was named to the Second Team All-Conference list after collecting 26 points on nine goals and eight assists. This fleet footed forward collected the game winning goal and two assists versus Belhaven College which solidified a spot in the GCAC Tournament.
Kristen Schaeffer, a 5’4 freshman defender from Woodlands, TX was a defensive specialist who consistently cleared opponents scoring chances by using her speed and knowledge of the game was named to the Second Team All-Conference list.
Katrina Blackwell, a 5’4 freshman forward from Harker Heights, TX was named First Team All-Conference. Blackwell led the Lady Pilots in scoring with 28 points which included a team high 12 goals and four assists. On September 9th Blackwell recorded the first and only hat trick in LSUS history in a 6-0 victory over Louisiana College.
Brenna Bussart, a 5’8 sophomore from Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport, LA was also named First Team All-Conference. Bussart solidified the Lady Pilot midfield position and added seven goals which included the first goal in LSUS history in the season opener versus William Carey College, and 2-goal performances versus NCAA Division I opponent Texas Southern University and the University of the Ozarks.
Shaderia Evans, a 5’10 freshman defender from Midland, TX was the anchor to the Lady Pilot defense. Evans provided a booming left footed kick and the presence of a strong and very talented athlete on defense. Evans led the team with 10 assists and also added six goals for a total of 22 points on the season. Evans was selected as a First Team All-Conference player and was also labeled the GCAC Defensive Player of the Year.
