Lady Pilots pick up another RRAC win

SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots defeated the Huston-Tillotson Lady Rams on Saturday night in Red River Athletic Conference action 73-62 at the Branch Gymnasium.
Sharde Henry led the Lady Pilots with 25 points which were her fourth straight game with 20 or more points while Christy Willis collected her second double-double of the season with 19 points and the game's leading 12 rebounds. Jenna Diakos poured in 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
The Lady Pilots (19-3, 14-2 RRAC) led by seven at the break with 53-percent shooting in the first half but struggled in the second half shooting just 27-percent but converted on 18 of 26 second half free-throws to make up the difference. LSUS edged the Lady Rams on the boards 49-43.
HTU (11-16, 9-9 RRAC) had just two finish in double digits led by Lakeva Castillo with 19 points and Erica Cray had 12 while Shaniqua Thomas led the team in rebounding with 11. LSUS turned the ball over 24 times while HTU committed 19.
The Lady Pilots will take on no. 19 Our Lady of the Lake on Monday night in San Antonio, Texas, at 5:30 p.m. for another huge road game in RRAC play. LSUS is currently tied with no. 22 Wiley for second place in the regular season RRAC standings just one game back of OLLU. Tonight Wiley defeated OLLU 84-82.
