Lady Pilots notch big road win over Texas Wesleyan

January 14, 2013

FORT WORTH, Tex. - The no. 25 LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots basketball team collected a big win on the road in Red River Athletic Conference play on Monday night at the Sid Richardson Center downing the Texas Wesleyan Lady Rams 76-66.

LSUS (13-3, 8-2 RRAC) placed three scorers in double figures led by Sharde Henry who tie with the game high of 21 points while Jenna Diakos and Meoshi Bradley each tossed in 17 points. Diakos played all 40 minutes and led the Lady Pilots with nine rebounds, including six offensive boards.

For the second time in her career Bradley posts back-to-back games scoring in double figures after netting 18 points this past Saturday against Southwest. The last and only other time she posted back-to-back games with double digit points was last year on February 6th and 11th when she drained 13 against Langston and 12 against Southwest.

The Lady Pilots won the rebounding battle 35-30 collecting 16 offensive rebounds while only committing 14 turnovers and forcing the Rams into 15 miscues. LSUS also used the free-throw line as a weapon converting on 17 of 22.

TWU (12-5, 8-3 RRAC) shot the ball well but it was not well enough to get by the Lady Pilots as they shot 46-percent for the game but was only two of 10 from downtown and only attempted 10 free throws and made six.

The Lady Rams had just two scorers in double figures with Toeisha Copper leading the way with 21 and Kayla McCray with 17. The home squad had three scorers tied with eight points a piece.

The Lady Pilots will head back to Shreveport to begin classes tomorrow and then head back out on the road to take on Langston at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Langston, Oklahoma, and then at Bacone on Monday at 5:30 p.m. to take on the Bacone Warriors.
