Lady Pilots Look to Continue Winning Ways

January 19, 2008
MOBILE, Ala—The University of Mobile women's basketball team will look to bounce back from its first Gulf Coast Athletic Conference loss when the LSU-Shreveport Lady Pilots visit Pharr Gym Saturday, January 19th at 2:00 pm.

Mobile, which had a 5-game winning streak snapped in a 73-70 loss at #21 Xavier Thursday, can run its conference record to 5-1 with a win over the 8-6 (4-1) Lady Pilots.

Passing plays an important factor for the visiting team, and Teokea Wilkerson runs the attack, with 5.3 assists per contest to rank #10 in the NAIA. As a team, LSU-S averages 15 assists and has a plus assist/turnover ratio.

Mobile meanwhile, uses a stout defense to set things up. The Lady Rams average 12 steals per game and are led by Danielle Goodly, who ranks 5th in the nation with just over 3 thefts per contest. Mobile also ranks 11th in the NAIA, holding opponents to only 33 boards per game.

Sherri McIntosh paces Mobile with 13 points and 7 rebounds, while Goodly averages over 3 assists to go with her steals.

The Lady Rams lead the all-time series 9-1 and have taken the last 8 meetings, since a 1-point setback to the Lady Pilots in the 2003-04 season.
