January 31, 2007

The second half of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular season begins Thursday night with the LSUS Lady Pilots playing host to the Dillard University Lady Blue Devils. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm at The Dock.

Series: The LSUS Lady Pilots responded with a 69-51 victory over the Dillard University Lady Blue Devils after dropping losing their Gulf Coast Athletic Conference home opener to Spring Hill College in early January. The Lady Pilots lead the overall series over DU 3-2, and are 2-0 at The Dock.

Most Recently: The Lady Pilots enter Thursday’s contest with a two game losing streak after dropping a 77-61 decision to Loyola University, which was followed by a heartbreaking 64-61 overtime loss at the hands of Southern University of New orleans.

The Lady Blue Devils enter The Dock sporting a 2-16 overall record, and are currently in last place in the GCAC at 2-7. DU however is coming off a 74-70 victory over the William Carey College Lady ‘Saders Monday night.

Streaks: The Lady Pilots are 1-9 in games when they shot under 40% from the field; 5-2 when shooting over 40%. LSUS has been out rebounded in their previous two losses, and have averaged 23 turnovers over the course of their last three contest (1-2 in that span).

The Lady Blue Devils are coming off a big win over WCC and look to make it two in a row as they try to climb their way out of the cellar in the GCAC standings.
