Lady Pilots Fall to Centenary Ladies 72-64
November 06, 2007
Shreveport, La.- The LSUS Lady Pilots dropped a 72-64 decision in the much highly anticipated crosstown contest versus Centenary College on Tuesday night.
The Lady Pilots led for the majority of the first half and went into halftime tied at 31 with the Ladies after forcing 14 first-half Centenary turnovers.
Coming out of the halftime break, LSUS jumped out to a quick five point lead; however, a 14-6 Centenary run late in the contest would be enough for the Ladies to hold off an upset-minded LSUS team.
LSUS Freshman Whitney Hollins was the game's high scorer with 17 points, while senior Edie Leonards chipped in with 14 points of her own.
Centenary had four players finish with double-digit scoring, led by junior Cierra Bush with 15 points.
Although Centenary turned the ball over 23 times to just 11 turnovers for the Lady Pilots, Centenary outshot the Lady Pilots 65% to 36% for the game.
The Ladies also finished the game outrebounding the Lady Pilots 42-28 for the contest.
LSUS will be back in action on Saturday night when they face another NCAA Divsion-1 opponent, Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
