Lady Pilots fall to Belhaven

JACKSON, Miss. - The LSU Shreveport women's soccer team lost to the Lady Blazers of Belhaven University 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the Belhaven soccer field.

BU (2-3-1) got on the board early during the second minute of the game with a goal from Christin Kaim to take an early one goal lead until LSUS' (3-2) Irene Henriksson found the back of the net at the 28th minute to tie the game at one.

The Lady Blazers got three goals in the second half to pull away from the Lady Pilots. Rebecca Ontero (64:02 and 66:34) scored two goals and Mary Beth Weber (83:32) scored one goal.

BU outshot LSUS 21-13 with 11 of their shots going on goal while seven Lady Pilots' shots found its way on goal. The Lady Pilots' Brooke Martin led all shooters with six shots but Belhaven's Rebecca Ontero had the most on goal with four.

The next match for the Lady Pilots will be on Thursday, September 22nd, at the Swamp versus Red River Athletic Conference foe, The Lady Rams from Huston-Tillotson University at 3 p.m.
