Lady Pilots Fall in Region XIII Semifinals

Hattiesburg, MS- #12 William Carey University women’s soccer team advanced to the Region XIII championship game by knocking off GCAC foe LSU-Shreveport 4-0 in semifinal play. Carey jumped out to a 1-0 halftime lead as Shayna Turner scored in the 26th minute of play.
Carey turned what had been a close game at half into a route in the second half. Carey out shot the Lady Pilots 14 to 2 in the half and tallied three goals as GCAC Player of the Year Shannon Steffan scored twice and Norma Velasquez scored the other second half goal.
With tonight's loss, the Lady Pilots season comes to end. They finished the season 11-7-1 record.
