Lady Pilots Fall at Home Versus Tougaloo

Shreveport, La. - The LSUS Lady Pilots dropped a 61-51 decision to the Tougaloo Lady Bulldogs at home on Thursday night.

Poor shooting from the field and at the free-throw line doomed the Lady Pilots in their quest for a second consecutive victory at the Dock and their sixth win the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play.

The Lady Pilots shot just 33% from the field during tonight's contest, including a dismal 3-for-13 (23%) from behind the arc.  In addition, the Lady Pilots made only 8-of-13 shots from the free-throw line, good for just 61.5% on the game.

The Tougaloo Lady Bulldogs made the most of their opportunities, connecting on nearly 47% of their shot attempts, while shooting an impressive 15-for-18 (83%) from the charity stripe.

The Lady Bulldogs also forced 21 Lady Pilot turnovers, which they converted into 22 points.

LSUS was led by Edie Leonards with 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Janai Sells added 8 points for the Lady Pilots in the defeat.

Tougaloo was paced by Erica McElroy's 16 points and 9 rebounds.

The Lady Pilots will host the University of Mobile on Saturday afternoon at The Dock.  Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM.
