Lady Pilots Drop 1-0 Decision to #6 St. Xavier
September 02, 2007
Pulaski, Tenn. - The LSUS Lady Pilots made a strong showing at the Martin Methodist College Classic this weekend in Pulaski, Tenn. However, the Lady Pilots came out on the losing end of both games played in the tournament.
After falling 2-0 to #2 Martin Methodist College on Saturday afternoon, LSUS fell just short of another upset bid on Sunday. A lone second half goal by #6 St. Xavier would be enough to make the difference in the game. For the second consecutive day, the Lady Pilots battled their way to a scoreless first half, but were unable to find the back of the net in either game.
In only their third year of NAIA competition, the Lady Pilots have nothing to hang their heads about after this weekend. The Lady Pilots proved that they can compete with anyone in the country, including the #2 and #6 ranked teams in the nation.
LSUS will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to face NCAA Division 1 opponent Alcorn State.
