Lady Pilots defeat St. Thomas for second straight win

HOSUTON, Tex. - The LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots took down the St. Thomas Celts on Saturday afternoon 72-47 in Red River Athletic Conference play at the Jerabeck Activity and Athletic Center to remain tied for second in the standings.

LSUS (8-5, 6-1 RRAC) have won two straight as they shot 48% from the field on Saturday in route to a 25-point victory. Jenna Diakos and Sharde Henry led the Lady Pilots in scoring each with an 18 point performance while Jennifer Hicks and Christy Willis also had an equal effort both tossing in 10 points apiece. Meoshi Bradley led the club with six assists while adding six points.

St. Thomas (5-7, 3-4 RRAC) had three scorers in double figures as Hershi Boone-Rodgers led all scorers with 19 points while Gaby Gusman had 11 points and Aujanee Armstrong 10. The Celts shot 33% from the field including making only four of 22 attempts from beyond the arc.

LSUS won the battle underneath as they grabbed a total of 48 rebounds compared to just 25 for the home team.

The next contest for the Lady Pilots will be on Thursday, Jan. 12, at The Dock against Jarvis Christian at 5:30 p.m.
