Lady Pilots Defeat Southern University, 4-0

Baton Rouge, La. - The LSUS Lady Pilots picked up their second consecutive win over a NCAA Division 1 opponent on Friday, defeat the Southern University Lady Jaguars, 4-0.

Freshman Dorrie Vaughan connected on pass from Caitlin Smith for the game's first goal and the only score of the first half, as the Lady Pilots led 1-0 after the first 45 minutes of play.

In the second half, Michelle Talley took advantage of a free kick opportunity to give the Lady Pilots a two-goal lead on her third goal of the season.

Jessica McDonald and Michelle Zamani also added second-half goals for the Lady Pilots, as each scored a goal for the second straight contest.

LSUS (4-2) shut out their opponent for the second game in-a-row, and they have not allowed a goal in each of their four wins this season.

The Lady Pilots return to action on Saturday night as they travel to Marshall to take on ETBU at 8:00 p.m.
