Lady Pilots defeat Jarvis

January 10, 2013

SHREVEPORT, La. - The no. 25 LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots defeated the Jarvis Christian Lady Bulldogs 71-57 on Thursday night at The Dock in Red River Athletic Conference play.

LSUS (11-3, 6-2 RRAC) have their 30-point lead to thank for the victory as their sluggish play in the second half in the addition to Jarvis' never say die attitude allowed the Lady Bulldogs to pull it to within 14 by the game's final buzzer. Sharde Henry led all scorers for the Lady Pilots with 23 points, 17 of which were scored in the first half of play. Henry pulled down 11 boards for her third double-double of the season.

Christy Willis was the only other Lady Pilot to hit double figures as she finished with 16 points. Brittany Maddox hit the most three's for the Lady Pilots but that was all as she finished with nine points.

JCC (0-12, 0-9 RRAC) had two scorers net double digits with Dinilesizwe Love having 16 points and Jametria Green finished with 10 points. The Lady Pilots did a nice job of shutting her down as she scored 10 of Javis' 12 points.

The Lady Pilots will hit the road for four straight games with their next contest coming on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. MDT at Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico and then on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth.
