Lady Pilots crush Texas College

SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots had four scorers finish Thursday's 94-67 thrashing of the Texas College Steers at The Dock in Red River Athletic Conference play.

Sharde Henry led the Lady Pilots as she recorded her fifth double-double of the season with the game-high of 26 points and tied with her teammate Brittany Maddox for the game's leading 10 rebounds as she finished with seven points. Henry finished two assists shy of a triple-double as she had eight while Christy Willis knocked down a pair of three-pointers leading her to 21 points while Jenna Diakos had 16 points and seven boards and Katie McCoy had a dozen points.

LSUS (18-3, 13-2 RRAC) eased their way to their eighth straight win with 50-percent shooting and out rebounded the visitors controlling the glass 53-31.

Ariel Harrell made her presence known pulling down eight rebounds off the bench, the second most of any LSUS' player. Jessica Carper pulled down six rebounds while each contributed five points.

Texas College (5-19, 4-14 RRAC) could not get much going against the Lady Pilots defense as they were forced to take bad shots converting on only 35-percent while turning the ball over 18 times as LSUS converted into 28 points.

The Lady Pilots will hit the road for a pair of games this weekend beginning in Austin, Texas, on Saturday night at Huston-Tillotson University and the visiting Our Lady of the Lake University on Monday night in Austin, Texas. Both games are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
