Lady Pilots Cruise Past Wesley College

JACKSON, Miss. – The LSUS Lady Pilots opened up the new year in the same fashion they closed out the last one, winning their school-record seventh consecutive game and easily defeating Wesley College 73-26 on Friday night.
Eleven Lady Pilots logged double-digit minutes in the victory with nine players reaching the scoring column. Jamien Arvie and Tish Flowers each had 12 points to lead the Lady Pilots, while Whitney Hollins also finished in double figures with 11.
LSUS dominated the contest from start-to-finish, as the Lady Pilots defense put forth one of the best defensive efforts in the program’s history. The Lady Pilots forced 20 turnovers and held Wesley to just 22% shooting from the field for the game, while allowing a school record-low 26 points.
The Lady Pilots finished the game shooting just over 47% from the field. LSUS connected on 40% of their three-point attempts, while making 87% of their free throws in the game.
LSUS (9-1) is off to the best start in school history and will look to extend their winning streak tomorrow afternoon versus East Texas Baptist University.
