Lady Pilots blank the Ozarks, 4-0

Clarksville, AR---The LSUS Lady Pilots soccer team traveled to Clarksville, AR to take on the University of the Ozarks in a Saturday afternoon matinee. The Lady Pilots picked up their second shutout of the year as they went on to defeat the Ozarks by a final score of 4-0 to improve to 2-2 on the season.
Brenna Bussart connected headed in her third goal of the season after Katrina Blackwell sent a booming throw in to midfield to put the Lady Pilots up 1-0. Bussart added her second goal of the game after connecting on a pass from Shaderia Evans putting the Lady Pilots ahead 2-0.
Blackwell followed a three goal performance Friday afternoon versus Louisiana College with a goal and an assist versus the Ozarks, while Kristin Hardin collected her first goal of the season to round out the Lady Pilot scoring.
Sarah McLean made her second start of the season and remains perfect on the year as she collected her second shutout in as many games, turning away four shots on goal. The Lady Pilots out shot the Ozarks 14-5 and finished with a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
"I am very happy for our girls. It could have been very easy to fold the tent after losing our first two games which some people may have expected. They play their hearts out and I am pleased that they have been rewarded for their efforts," concluded Jones after the Lady Pilots 4-0 victory which puts them back to .500 on the very early season.
