Lady Pilot Henry Takes Weekly Women's Hoops Award

WACO, Tex. - Sharde Henry of LSU Shreveport claimed the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award for the dates of Dec. 10-16. This is the seventh award of the season and the second one for Henry.
Henry, a senior forward from Lake Charles, La., averaged 20.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Lady Pilots. After scoring 13 points in 27 minutes in a 58-47 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas), she poured in 28 points and pulled down nine boards with five assists in a 78-75 loss to Wiley College (Texas). For the week, Henry sank 12-of-23 field goal attempts and made 15-of-18 free throws. LSUS is 4-1 in conference play and 9-2 on the season.
J'Tierra Brown of Texas Wesleyan University, Nikkia Davis of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas), Maghen Lormand of the University of St. Thomas (Texas), and Danisha Shaw of Wiley College (Texas) were also nominated for this week's award.
