Lady Blue Devils Outlast Lady Pilots

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Dillard Lady Blue Devils hung on for a 49-44 victory over the visiting LSUS Lady Pilots on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Pilots shot just 33 percent from the field in the loss, including a dismal 1-for-19 from behind the three-point line.
LSUS also missed several opportunities at the free-throw line, finishing the game shooting 33 percent from the charity stripe. Dillard connected on 11 free throws to just 3 makes for the Lady Pilots, ultimately deciding the outcome of the contest.
Edie Leonards scored a game-high 15 points for the Lady Pilots, while Kacie Cryer was the only other Lady Pilots in double figures with 10 points.
Alrieon Bevins scored 12 points to lead the Lady Blue Devils, and Kenya Matthew added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
LSUS (10-13, 6-8) has lost three straight, and will look to end their losing streak at home on Thursday night versus Southern University of New Orleans. The Lady Pilots picked up a 62-41 victory over SUNO earlier this season.
