Hicks named RRAC Player of the Week

WACO, Tex. - Jennifer Hicks of LSU Shreveport earned recognition as the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her play during the dates of Jan. 9-15.
Hicks, a senior forward from Bossier City, La., accounted for 14.0 points and 8.0 points per game in a pair of conference wins for the Lady Pilots. She posted 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists to sink Jarvis Christian College (Texas), 68-35, and she delivered 17 points, seven boards and four blocks in a 77-62 win over Texas College. Overall, Hicks connected on 10-of-17 shots from the field (58.8%) as LSUS moved to 8-1 in conference play and 10-5 on the season.
Marsharae Brown of JCC, Chinwendu Mbah of Wiley College (Texas), Shirley McGowen of TXC, Octavia Mullins of Texas Wesleyan University, Shaquita Roberts of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas), and Tayla Vaughn of Langston University (Okla.) were also nominated for this week's award. -RRAC-
