Diakos snags RRAC POW

WACO, Tex. - Jenna Diakos of LSU Shreveport was selected as the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the dates of Jan. 2-8.
Diakos, a sophomore forward from Ragley, La., paced the Lady Pilots with 20.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week. She accounted for 23 points and 10 boards in a 98-51 victory over University of the Southwest (N.M.) then delivered 18 and 13 to sink the University of St. Thomas (Texas), 72-47. Diakos made 20-of-34 field goal attempts (58.8%) and chipped in three assists. LSUS is 6-1 in conference play and 8-5 overall.
Kristi Alexander of Texas Wesleyan University, Stacey Darnley of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas), Dinilesizwe Love of Jarvis Christian College (Texas) and Ashli Smith of Texas College were also nominated for this week's award.
