Davis named RRAC Player of the Week for second consecutive week

WACO, Tex. - Brandon Davis of LSU Shreveport snared his second consecutive Red River Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award for the dates of Jan. 7-13. This is the ninth men's basketball award of the season.
Davis, a junior forward from Pomona, Calif., led the Pilots again with 23.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in a 3-0 week. He poured in 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 95-91 victory over Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) then scored 14 points in a 79-71 defeat of Jarvis Christian College (Texas). On Saturday, Davis registered a double-double with 30 points and 13 boards to edge University of the Southwest (N.M.), 116-111. For the week, he connected on 25-of-56 shots from the field (44.6%). LSUS is now 7-3 in the conference standings and 11-4 overall.
Anthony Jackson of Wiley College (Texas), Dallas Jones of Texas Wesleyan University, Bryan Kaase of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas), Dominique Rambo of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas), Michael Russell of University of the Southwest (N.M.), and Lo'ron Smith of OLLU were additional nominees.
